On May 17, 2025, Stormgears FRC Team 5422 proudly participated in Westford’s Annual Apple Blossom Parade. This is an event that brings together thousands of community members each year. This cherished local tradition provided an excellent opportunity for our team to engage with the public and showcase the excitement of STEM and robotics.
The following Stormgears volunteers were instrumental in making this event a success: Simra Ali (event organizer), Sabah Chatiwala, Saayan Rao, Claire Gao, Shaarini Kumar, Aditi K, and Neil Nair.
We marched through the town alongside our 2025 season Reefscape robot, distributing candy and Stormgears buttons while demoing the robot to enthusiastic crowds. Spectators of all ages were excited to see the robot in action, with many children and adults stopping to ask questions and learn more.
Following the parade, we hosted an interactive booth where kids had the chance to drive the robot themselves. Our team members also spoke with families, local leaders, and curious attendees about our robotics program and the value of STEM education.
We are proud to have reached and inspired hundreds of local residents through this event, continuing to strengthen our connection with the community and spark interest in science and technology among the next generation.
