Stormgears 5422 is a FIRST Robotics (FRC) Team based in and around Devens, MA.

We build robots, and in doing so, we encourage necessary skills for programming, building, and life in general.

Backstory

We originally started out as multiple FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams. In the 2014 FLL season, the Blue Stormgears had the sixth highest robot score at the State Championship at WPI, and the Green Stormgears came in first place overall. At nationals, the Green Stormgears won the 2nd place mechanical design award for their robot. The Green Stormgears' experience at the FIRST World Championship and exposure to FRC teams led a team member and a high school mentor to start an FRC team. Stormgears was built from a few FLL Team members then spiraled out into a massive group of over 50 adults and students that were able to win the Rookie All-Star award in 2015. With a stellar World Championship to end the season, Stormgears moved on to our second year of competition. With our second year now wrapped up with several Engineering Inspiration award victories under our belt, Stormgears are primed to move into high gear and take on even more of everything FRC has to offer.
